Whatsapp
To stay in touch in the next weeks and months we will create a dedicated EDC Montreal 2019 Whatsapp group. We will share the QR code for the Whatsapp group during our pre-EDC call. The other option is to reach out to us at mail@edco.global to get the invite link for the EDC Montreal WhatsApp Group.

Below a snippet of the questions we typically ask participants to consider prior to participating when they get onsite. You have some time to think about this as you travel to Montréal and we ask you to please prepare your answers for the introduction session on the first day on 16 Aug:

  1. What you are working on these days? (Briefly describe your current job or projects)
  2. Why have you decided to join the EDC program? (Please be brief and informative)
  3. After obtained your EDC, what would be your ideal outcome one year from now? (In an ideal world, when I am a CED-Certified Event Designer I will have achieved ____)
  4. What Event Design Project would you like to work on for EDC? (please prepare a 2 minute pitch of the project you would like to design for EDC)
  5. Is there anything else we should know about your coming to EDC?

We would be delighted if you would create and bring your “Experience Journey” to EDC for this program. (we leave it upto you and your creative mind to present that in an original way to your fellow participants.

If you haven’t already gotten your hands on a copy of the Event Design Handbook we suggest you read the first 100 pages (for free) or order your copy which will come in handy in your future life as an Event Designer.

On 16 Aug 2019 we will meetup at 08:30 (AM) where we will have a continental breakfast ready for you and we will start the EDC program at 09:00 (AM) sharp.

For lunch breaks (12:30 – 13:30) we will go to different lunch spots on the campus to give you a flavour of Montréal.

EDC Classes run daily from 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 Aug 2019.

The evening time is at your leisure and if you like we can meet for an informal dinner (not part of the official program).

One small exception;  on Friday 16 Aug after class (which will end slightly earlier at 16:00) we are planning a little Montréal style surprise for everyone so plan for that program to run slightly later until about 20:00 hours.

16:05:22 From Ruud Janssen : Share your successes , ask your questions
16:05:39 From Ruud Janssen : we have 55 minutes left
16:06:02 From joanne.visee : About the assignment, the majority of it is clear to me. Just not really sure what guidelines there are regarding the format for the prototypes?
16:06:31 From Ingrid Rip : My professor is availalable for a few longer sessions, but other professors involved in the conference are not (they are from other uni’s and unable to join for the sessions). Can I do it with just one prof, the organiser and maybe one other person from the group?
16:07:00 From joanne.visee : And one operational questions – not having any luck with including videos on the mural – do you have any tips?
16:07:36 From Nikki Sayers : I’m sharing the event design canvas with two of our clients in California in mid-October before IMEX as part of our pilot project…super nervous any tips/strategies?
16:07:39 From Anthony Vade : The biggest challenge I have found is getting people to understand who their stakeholders are. They always focus on the ones with financial stakes. Does anyone have tips on how to get people to expand their stakeholder scope?
16:09:12 From Ashley Devenney : What would be the optimal time allocated to an EDC session and what is the bare minimum time needed to be allocated for a successful session.
16:11:47 From jdahbi : My biggest challenge was timing, we run out of time for prototyping, I allocated 4 hours in total for 2 stakeholders but it wasn’t enough. Other challenge: being a facilitator!!! it’s very hard
16:12:49 From Emad : just came out of a 3 days sales force conference in Liège, Belgium. the team there asked for my opinion on how they handled the event and what feedback I would give, I started then talking to the about the canvas and explaining the design process and they were kind of blown away, asked me to share it with them, which I promised to do and explain forfuture event designs 🙂
16:26:44 From Ruud Janssen : great keep your questions & also answers/suggestion to the questions coming.
16:31:33 From Nikki Sayers : Yea to IMEX I’m going 🙂
16:31:50 From KAIMERI : sorry, changing a device – I can hear you but cannot share my pic anymore.
16:35:30 From Kim Demail : Where are all the videos of our class in Adam located. It would be good to look at them before a real session
16:47:32 From Caitlin : I haven’t done anything yet (!) but will be scheduling my group this month as we start the planning
16:48:41 From Emad : have a problem with Mural access, can I have the link again?
16:51:50 From Ruud Janssen : Sure Emad Happy to reach out to you after the call to set you up
16:53:12 From Tina Nicodemo : thanks!
16:53:59 From Drew Holmgreen : JAZZ HANDS!
16:54:26 From Emad : crime scene
16:55:58 From Rachel_Ramos : my teacher is already thinking I am crazy!! kk

16:56:34 From Ingrid Rip : our BHAG: design crazy events
16:56:58 From Nikki Sayers : what’s the best way to get the facilitator kit = https://edco.global/tools/
16:59:24 From Kim Demail : Great idea !!
