EDC at Stockton University - Atlantic City, NJ, USA
We are so delighted you registered for this 13th edition of the Event Design Certificate Program and can’t wait to welcome you to our online program on Thursday 25 June 2020. This page will be the microsite for this program. This page is being updated at regular intervals as the program progresses.
Ready to submit your EDC project for review?
Please do so here.
To stay in touch in the next weeks and months we will create a Whatsapp group. We have shared the QR code to the Whatsapp group as well as an invite link during our first zoom call. We will also be able to connect you to the WhatsApp group once you get onsite.
Below a snippet of the questions, we typically ask participants to consider prior to participating when they get onsite. You have some time to think about this as you travel to San Diego and we ask you to please prepare your answers for the introduction session on the first day :
- What you are working on these days? (Briefly describe your current job or projects)
- Why have you decided to join the EDC program? (Please be brief and informative)
- After obtaining your EDC, what would be your ideal outcome one year from now? (In an ideal world, when I am a CED-Certified Event Designer I will have achieved ____)
- What Event Design Project would you like to work on for EDC? (please prepare a 2-minute pitch of the project you would like to design for EDC)
- Is there anything else we should know about your coming to EDC?
We would be delighted if you would create and bring your “Experience Journey†to EDC for this program. We leave it up to you (and your creative mind) to present that in an original way to your fellow participants.
If you haven’t already gotten your hands on a copy of the Event Design Handbook we suggest you get one. You can get started reading the first 100 pages (for free) whilst you wait for the full Event Design Handbook 204-page copy (Link for AMAZON or Bookdepository online bookstore) arrives in your mailbox. It will certainly come in handy in your future life as an Event Designer.

Welcome to the EDC programme,
The first coaching call was held on 9 March 2018. Please find the recording of that below.
18:05:19 From Ruud Janssen : If we could ask you to als add your thoughts here in the chat would be great. If you are not speaking thanks for muting your line
18:16:51 From sftravel : Can you hear me?
18:17:10 From sftravel : i did dial in too.
18:29:20 From Rachel Clarke : i want to discuss working off the mural
18:30:32 From Kristin : I wanted to hear about peoples experience with initial conversations with planning committees, introducing the new method.
18:31:03 From Kristin : And also how to faciliate the convo as you move from empathy mapping to protoyping
18:31:43 From Nico Meyer : when designing with a group with no prior experience, do I take facilitator roll myself or assign that also to one of participants? What are teams experiences and thoughts on assigning roles?
18:32:48 From sftravel : Happy Friday! I’d like to know some tips on merging stakeholders into one EC. Perhaps I am overcomplicating it.
18:33:07 From Roel Frissen : good questions!
18:33:14 From Rachel Clarke : i think you have to be the facilitator, Nico. What I found hard was not to over influence the process
18:33:43 From Nico Meyer : That’s my worry too Rachel
18:35:37 From Rachel Clarke : yes, for merging are we looking for similar things or different. I’m assuming different to get the range of views
18:39:55 From Cori Schrader : we are a team of 6 so we all have to have a role. I take the facilitator role as everyone is so new to this.
18:40:22 From sftravel : Thx Rachel. I was overthinking it. =)
18:50:39 From sftravel : I have a question about the facilitation book, page 41–prior to sketching the Experience Journey.
18:51:03 From sftravel : I may be muted again
18:54:45 From Cori Schrader : I am sorry. I have to go. my conference is breaking in 5 minutes
