BECOME A CERTIFIED TRUSTED ADVISOR

Professionals often struggle to gain early access to client decision-making, build lasting relationships, and be seen as key strategic partners. Without the right skills and credibility, it’s difficult to influence outcomes and contribute meaningfully to organizational success. The Certified Trusted Advisor (CTA) program addresses these challenges, empowering you to become a trusted, influential advisor.

WHAT IS THE TRUSTED ADVISOR PROGRAM?

Becoming a better Trusted Advisor leads to increased influence in decision-making, establishing long-term relationships, understanding of the client’s primary process, and recognition as a key player in organizational strategy, ultimately contributing to individual and organizational success. A trusted advisor can also engage in a conversation much earlier in a client’s decision-making process. Participants who complete the full journey will obtain the CTA (Certified Trusted Advisor) designation.

Successful participants are granted the Certificate in Event Design and 24 continuing education clock hours in domain G: Meeting & Event Design as defined by the Events Industry Council (EIC).

Paul Rulkens introduces the powerful and liberating concept of “Me, Inc.”: see yourself as the President of your own solo service company (inside or outside of a larger organization). This perspective enables you to create significantly more value for your organization and rapidly advance your career.

You will learn how to:

  • Create a strategic blueprint for your professional growth and career advancement.
  • Understand the five critical areas where you can enhance value creation.
  • Effectively increase visibility, influence, and provide assistance to key stakeholders.
  • Build a personal system to execute and maintain momentum in achieving your personal goals.
  • Avoid behaviors that mask your effectiveness and strengths as both a professional and a leader.
  • Focus on the only three resources that will help you maintain resilience and adaptability.

David Bancroft-Turner introduces you to the core concepts of influence and workplace politics and your role in it. Engage in real-time practical conversation exercises where you simulate buyer and gatekeeper conversations in their respective preference.

By being aware of your counterpart’s preferences and how to address them, you can create significantly more value and build trust to see at eye level with your peers.

You will learn how to:

  • Observe behaviours and listen to understand your conversation partner better
  • Understand the four types of preferences and how to best address them in conversations.
  • See eye to eye with your gatekeeper or buyer and know how to effectively consult them for impact
  • Avoid behaviors that negatively influence your credibility, reliability and self-orientation as both a professional and a leader.
  • Apply and practice the LEAD preferences in every workplace engagement to be recognized as a Trusted Advisor.
